Celebrate the Nation’s Birthday in the heart of America. Tranquil lands, once the scene of Indian Raids and Civil War battles, surround the Cumberland River with epic sights. Heroic figures like Davy Crockett and Sam Houston star in the legends of the Tennessee River. This is where the golden age of Steamboatin’ began, you are sure to be enthralled by your American Discovery.

Your cruise will begin in Memphis Tennessee, home of Elvis and B.B. King. Sail north to New Madrid, Missouri. Step into the charm of small-town America. New Madrid made history as the epicenter of the most powerful earthquake ever to hit the US. You’ll next visit the port of Paducah on the Ohio river, the site of a Chicasaw village. It became a Union stronghold where 42,000 Union soldiers boarded 173 steamboats and 12 gunboats for a fateful journey to Shiloh.  At the port of Cape Girardeau Missouri, see Civil War sites and a site commemorating the Trail of Tears. Once the home to the Ozark cliff dwellers and the Mississippian tribe, Cap Girardeau became a French trading post and river port. Your Steamboat tour ends at the port of St Louis, Missouri, the site of the first ice cream cone, hot dog, and hamburger introduced at the World’s Fair of 1904. Visit the city’s most famous landmark, the Gateway Arch.

The great rivers and coastal waterways that opened up America to exploration await your own exploration. The Amercian Queen is the glorious flagship of the Majestic America Line. In size and style, she represents the crown jewel of river cruising, offering for just 436 guests at a time an extraordinary experience of authentic 19th century Americana Luxury.
